Spring clean your Beauty Rotine

When you think of spring cleaning, the last thing on your mind is tidying up your skincare routine. But in order to maintain a healthy complexion, this should be a top priority on your seasonal checklist.

Whether it's decluttering your bathroom of expired beauty products, incorporating lightweight cosmetics that lock in moisture, these tiny tweaks will make a huge difference.

There are only a few products that are really essential to a great skincare routine - the first is a cleanser.  Wash your face with your favourite Eminence Cleanser and don’t forget to remove all your makeup, we suggest Stone Crop Cleansing Oil or Wildflower Cleansing Balm.

Time to get rid of that dull winter skin and amp up the exfoliation for a clear, smooth, radiant complexion. Choose an exfoliator that is gentle but effective and make sure that you only use it twice a week to avoid over-exfoliation. Our top-pick: Stone Crop Oxygenating Fizzofoliant

Spring means blooming flowers and plenty of sunshine.  For a radiant complexion to match the season, use antioxidants such as Vitamin C which not only help brighten the skin but also protect it from pollution and UV rays like Citrus & Kale Potent C+E Serum.

Our skin tends to stay more hydrated and retains more moisture during warmer weather, so with more sunshine on the way, it’s time to swap those heavy moisturisers for something lighter.  We suggest Mangosteen Gel Moisturiser.

Don’t forget your body too!  After months of covering up there will be areas such as elbows, knees, heels etc that are in need of a spring makeover. Use an exfoliator like Stone Crop Revitalising Sugar Scrub to remove dry skin while adding moisture back into the skin.

SPF is your BFF and you should always be using sunscreen! It’s a myth that you don’t need sunscreen if it’s overcast or raining – clouds only block 20% of UV rays so your skin is still being exposed to the harsh effects.  Applying a daily sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher is recommended, reapplying after every two to three hours of sun exposure or after contact with water. Our recommendation: Lilikoi Mineral Defense Moisturiser SPF33.

How many of your beauty products are out-of-date? Old make-up and skincare products can often do more harm than good so don’t risk a break-out or bacterial infection by continuing to use them past their expiration date.
